Individual Giving Specialist

Part time (20 hours/week) 

At Rare Disorders New Zealand (RDNZ) we’re passionate about supporting and advocating for the 300,000 people who live with at least one of 7,000 rare disorders that are prevalent in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our ambitious programme of things we intend to do to improve – and save – people’s lives needs to be supported financially by growing and diversifying our sources of income.

For the first time in our twenty five years history we’re going to invest in a regular giving programme, and we’re looking for an individual giving specialist with the knowledge and experience to get our programme off the ground from scratch, and make it successful.

This is a part time 20 hours per week role which can be based anywhere in the country, although it will be a plus if your preference is to live and work in Wellington.   • A successful track record in developing and managing regular giving programmes
  • Well developed promotional and marketing awareness and skills
  • Results oriented with an enthusiasm for setting and achieving ambitious financial goals
  • A warm and engaging personality with excellent internal and external relationship management skills
  • Active commitment to RDNZ’s aspiration to be a better Treaty partner, with the ability to reach out to and communicate effectively with whānau Māori supporters
  • Demonstrated ability to reach out to and connect with people from all walks of life across the New Zealand population
  • Self-motivated with an ability to take ownership of the role, work independently, use initiative, and get things done without requiring close supervision
  • Sound working knowledge of CRMs
  • Commitment to RDNZ’s values, mission and vision

The dimensions of the role include:

  • establishing, maintaining and growing a database of individual donors;
  • establishing and managing a new supporters and donors acquisition programme;
  • managing relationships and engaging with individual donors;
  • developing multiple individual giving channels;
  • developing and implementing a bequest programme;
  • and developing and implementing a major individual donor programme.
