Rare Disorders Month is a chance for the 300,000 strong community of rare patients, as well as friends and whānau, to rally together and call for urgency in the health reform that has been promised.

We want New Zealanders all over the motu to glow up and show up for rare to show the rare community that they are valued and deserve better support.

To do so we need your help to spread the word and rally your local schools, community groups and businesses to get behind this important campaign and show their support for rare.

From simply donning a temporary tattoo and sharing a picture on social media using one of our hashtags, to hosting morning teas or local colours runs, there are plenty of ways you can #GlowUpShowUp for rare! We have created some helpful packs to provide inspiration, which you can access below.

Whatever you do, please keep us in the loop so that we can give you a shout-out! Email with your plans and use our hashtags in social media posts:

For support groups

As individuals, we often feel unseen, but as a rare disorder community, we are an army of 300,000 - plus whānau and supporters. Together we can raise meaningful awareness and spark monumental change.

For schools

1-2 students in every classroom has a rare disorder. By taking part in Rare Disorder Month you’re giving hope to the rare disorder community within your school and showing that they matter and deserve a decent quality of life.

For workplaces

We are reaching out to workplaces in Aotearoa to help us drive awareness and raise funds to continue to advocate for them.

For community groups
